eMule的作者是一个德国人Merkur，本名Hendrik.Breitkreuz（亨德里克.布雷特刘兹）。eMule是如今广为流传的基于ed2k的客户端，中文名称电骡。2002年05月13日的黎明，Hendrik.Breitkreuz不满意当时的eDonkey2000客户端（也就是“电驴”，电驴是美国人发明的，国内那个自称电驴网的verycd是个不折不扣的“假电驴”），并且坚信自己能做的更出色，于是着手开发。他凝聚了一批原本在其他领域有出色发挥的程序员在他的周围，eMule开源工程（eMule-project）就此诞生。他的目标是将eDonkey的优点及精华保留下来，并加入新的功能以及使图形界面变得更好。目前eMule已经成为了全球最流行的开源p2p文件共享客户端。

这个站点据可靠情报是verycd建立的电驴资源搜索站，表面是英文，其实是通过阉割驴后门收集的所有verycd电驴，easymule阉割驴的用户资源，所以以中国用户共享的电驴资源为主。由于建立在海外所以什么资源都有，也可以看出verycd通过“阉割驴”easymule搜集用户隐私的能力多大，这也是很多电驴爱好者斥责verycd侵犯用户隐私的原因之一，不过对我们这些不使用verycd“阉割驴”的用户来说，是个好地方，哈哈哈。
